We rescued our dog Sugar when she was 6 weeks old from a guy in a Wal-Mart parking lot. He told us he had found her in an abandoned trailer and didn't know anything about her except that she was a German Shepherd mix. We've had Sugar for 4yrs now and would love an idea of what breeds she could me mixed with.
She's stubborn, very intelligent, loving, protective, and loves lots of exercise! She gets scared or doesn't like other dogs and most humans. She's never been physically aggressive, but sometimes she'll bark and growl very aggressively and is really protective of us and our home. I've tried many training techniques to resolve her standoffish and aggressive behavior towards other dogs and humans and nothing seems to ease her attitude. I figured if I found what breeds she is, it may help me find a technique that'll work for her. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you for your time and God bless!

Her solid black coloration makes me think she is a black lab and shepherd cross. Google lab shepherd cross dogs and check it out. Some of the photos I found look just like her.
