She weighs 52 pounds and is 11 months old. When she's happy or excited and playful, her tail can curl up. When she's timid or scared her tail goes between her legs. She is very friendly but very skittish.

This dog looks like it has part pitbull. You can invest in a DNA test to find out for sure.
She looks like some type of pitbull mix, possibly with Lab? I had a pitbull/lab mix of about the same size and similar head structure and eyes.
I am for sure a vet will tell you, your baby definitely has Labrador Retriever and maybe a mix with a pit bull but 100 on the lab!!
