Tuffy is about 5 months old, I adopted her from the shelter a couple of days ago. I was told she was a hound mix and I thought she looked like a black and tan Coonhound. She has long thin legs, a thin body, and a long pointy nose. She acts like a Bloodhound. Her coloring is black with brown on her face, chest and legs, and with white on her chest, neck, and front paws with ticking on her paws and neck. Thoughts?

Can't tell how big she is from the pic but she might be a dachshund. Dachshunds or "weiner dogs" are very affectionate and playful but wouldn't be great for hunting! I've had a few rescue dogs of indeterminate breed. They are still a joy to be around whatever the breed. Enjoy your fur baby.
Bit hard to say from that photo but perhaps a coonhound lab mix
She definitely has hound in her
Well - she looks like she is just waiting on a "command" to go get it! Hound for sure but what else?
DNA tests are really getting popular now that they are so available and I expect the price to drop soon so they will be more affordable. the tests now cost between $65 - 200 dollars but they really can give you a lot of information that may help you take better care of as she gets older.
