This is Ozzy. I got him about 3 weeks ago. The owners said he was 11 months. I had him neutered, chipped, dewormed, and given shots. This couple put him on Craigslist, "free to a good home". I called to ask about him, they said he is "Chihuahua/terrier", but I see more terrier/Yorkie from research I've done.
As eager as they were to just throw him at me to get rid of him "because he barked too much", I am just not sure they knew anything about him. They gave him away because they couldn't deal with him. Yes, he is a barker, but he's such a joy to us, my Lab and my boys. He's pretty smart, I've taught him to sit with treats, he's learned his name well, runs and jumps like a rabbit and loves to cuddle and sleep under my sheets and/or blankets in my bed. The only issue I'm having is the house training, I take him out quite often yet he's still having accidents inside What's your opinion? What do you think my lil terrier is mixed with?

He has a Chihuahua face. There are long-haired Chihuahuas as well as short-haired ones.
He is a cute dog. If you are curious about knowing his breed it is possible to buy a dog DNA test kit online. I think the test runs around $100 USD.
Thanks! I didn't know they had dna test for k9.
Looks like a loving pair of pals.
i do not believe he has major Chihuahua characteristics but a DNA test would show for sure.
If you will be taking him to vet soon (shots/vaccinations - Parvo/Rabies) this would be a good time to ask them what they think about his breed or check on a DNA test.
DNA test kits can be bought on line (Amazon, eBay, Etc.), or from most pet stores. The cost runs from $50 - 200 dollars.
Here is a link that explains DNA tests and an example of a kit for sale. The last link is a detailed list of what a puppy needs in their first year.
