I got this puppy from a friend and I don't know if this is a German Shepherd or not. Help me figure it out please.

This is definitely a mix. The face is not a purebred German Shepherd.

Your dog looks like it could be a German Shepherd/retriever mix or possibly a German Shepherd/Chow mix. There's a real likelihood there's several different breeds in your adorable pup.
The photo is a bit dark, but what I can see looks a lot like a baby bernese mountain dog. So cute!
Have you had the vet weigh in? Vets can see what I can't, like the teeth, jaw and bone structure!

The dog does have some German Shepherd in it, but it is mixed with several other breeds of dogs too. I can see the coloring of the German Shepard but it is hard to tell right now what the other mix is.
Your dog looks to me like a Burmese Mountain dog/shepherd mix. Should be a wonderful dog.
