What Breed Is My Dog?

A brown and black dog in a house.I've been told he is part lab and German shepherd and mixed with something else, just not sure what. Can anyone tell me what else he is mixed with? He does have black on his tongue.

The coloring certainly resembles the German Shepard, and I think the face is a bit like the Rhodesian Ridgeback. So sweet!

I'm going to go with Shepherd and Hound dog. The color and likeness is of both animals.

He has some kind of hound in him. You can always do a DNA test to see the full bloodline.

Breeding cannot be determined by just seeing pictures so I feel sure you will have different thoughts from here the same as you do when asking the question in person.

Nice looking dog but to even try to guess the dominate breed we would need full length pictures (side views) showing body build, tail position, nose and head.
Also would need at what age pictures were taken, the dog's weight and measurements.
I'm assuming you did not see your dog's parents and was not able to obtain breed information.
Generally speaking, dogs of this nature will have 2 dominate breeds and 2-4 breeds in their background. So your dog does appear to have German Shepherd and Lab so it's only guess work trying to pinpoint another breed.

As to the black spots on his tongue, almost all breeds of dogs can have these and it is not a rare thing.

I'm hoping that he has a regular vet and has had all of his shots/vaccinations as these are the most important part you can do for your pet.

If you're really interested in your dog's breeding then you should start by asking his vet as they can see him in person and offer some information.
The next thing would be DNA test as these can provide a lot of breeding and health information.
You can purchase kits online, pet stores or your vet. The cost ranges from about $60 - to several hundreds.

It's definitely shepard by the color, tail, body lines and judging by the way the ears sit and most of the muzzle it really looks like Labrador retriever especially when you look at the eyes and snout in the second picture it has that Labrador stare which is a bit different than the stare of a shepard in a couple aspects.
