What Breed Is My Dog?

Jackson has been with us for about 3 months now. I was told he was a Boston Terrier/Lab mix puppy. His mother was said to be a pure bred Boston Terrier and his father was a Lab mix. Recently after a visit with my father and his fiance, where she had pointed out some very uncanny resemblances to Pitbull in Jackson, I can't unsee it. I am hoping that you guys might be able to help.

Stats are as follows:
Age - 5 months
Height - 15/16 inches
Weight - 35 to 40 pounds (weighed 2 weeks ago)

He's very playful, full of energy, extremely curious when it comes to other dogs, and plays well most of the time (except when really really hyper). He is very trainable, has learned about 10 tricks so far. He was easy to puppy train. He has a shiny coat. I could go on for days about how highly I think of my dog lol.

I am really just curious if anyone else has a similar dog, and could give me a rough idea of size, or if they think my father's fiance might be right.

Thanks Kyle and Jackson. side view of Jackson standing

He looks like a cross between a Boston Terrier and a lab. This might make him look a little like a pit bull.

I don't see any pit bull in this dog. So cute! I see lab in the ears and body type and some Boston in the face. His face and body are all wrong for a pit bull. You can get a dna kit for $100 at a pet store, if you want to be sure. I'd save my money.

Run a search engine images search using the term 'boston terrier lab mix dogs' and you'll see your future step-mother is a hysterical idiot and potential future claimant against your homeowner's insurance!

Sorry to be so blunt but for one, your dog is clearly a BT-Lab (do the image search:) and for another, I've had a similar experience with a relative.

I raised AKC Boxers in the US 40+years but this woman told everyone she met I kept dangerous pit bulls, and sure enough one day an exuberant pup jumping up to greet her left a welt on her arm (where he dug in a paw).

Within an hour she'd called the police alleging a vicious attack, lol - no worries because we had CCTV on the kennels and puppy exercise yard. We ran the tape for the police and animal control and that ended the 'vicious attack' story.

I can say 'lol' but ONLY because we had the CCTV film to show the authorities. I'd be very clear with this woman about your dog, and if she continues to push her ludicrous notions, keep her away from your dog to avoid future claims!
