This is Lyla. She is an 8 month old calico cat with tabby stripes. I don't know what breed she is, but I think she is a semi-longhaired cat. I've uploaded pictures of both of her parents so hopefully someone can identify what breed she is.
Thank you.

I think most vets and breeders would consider your Lyla a Calico Domestic Shorthair. Unless you are buying a purebred of some breed, most other cats are considered domestic shorthair or domestic longhair. She is beautiful and the same colors of tabby as my Calico. My Cali has on her right side, a patch of orange tabby on her shoulder and hip, with two patches of grey tabby in between.
I agree, she appears to look like a Domestic Shorthair. The colors are so beautiful, they look like they were painted on her. Also she she seems to love taking pictures, very photogenic.
I have a cat that is very simialr in color to your beautiful Lyla. By the way, I love her name. Basically, your cat would be considered a domestic short haired cat with calico being a description of her color not breed. Just for fun, I'll share with you a couple of names I've heard rescue groups call cats like the ones you and I have.
First of all; she is a one-of-a kind as there are no 'certain' markings that make up a Calico cat.
Calico only refers to the coloring and not a breed as there are several breeds that can produce Calico babes.
Folklore in several countries believe cats of this coloration can bring good luck so maybe this will also happen in your case with Lyla.
She is lovey but be sure she has her regular vet visits and stays up to date with routine wellness care, like regular exams and vaccines.
Thank you! I definitely make sure shes up to date with her vaccinations and regular exams for the sake of her well-being. I wasnt aware that the shade of her colouring may change overtime but Ill keep that in mind. Thanks!
We have a calico in our family right now and she has changed coloring over the years. We love her and she is an adorable cat so I hope you'll have many happy years with your little girl.
What everyone calls the breed for these house cats is Domestic Shorthair. She does have calico in her body area and in her head she almost looks like a tiger because of the marking. She could be a mix of several breeds of cats which makes her one of a kind. What makes her stand out is the marking on her head only and then the spots on her back. I have some tiger cats here that have the same markings on their head as yours does but then their body is the same as the head marking where yours is not.
Here is an excellent article about calico cats:
