What Breed Is My Puppy?

What Breed Is My Puppy? - small black puppySo I adopted my puppy Myron around a month ago. They said he and 2 others were strays. They also said he was around 15 weeks and was a Chihuahua mix. The guy who owns the place told me he thinks he has Lab in him. I would like to know what he is or may be mixed with because he is very, very small. I have no clue what to expect.

I have a cat and a Husky that loves to play. I can't put Myron on the floor for long because my Husky, who tries to be gentle, accidentally plays a little rough as she's so big. My cat on the other hand is triple Myron's size. He attempts to scratch him so I have to keep him up all the time. I keep hoping he gets bigger so I can have them together. He can't be mixed with a Lab when he's under 6 inches tall at 5 months. He is kind of long so maybe Dachshund? I really don't know, but I would highly appreciate any other opinions I could get. :)

I just want to hug Myron!! OMG!! That face!! So cute!!

His haunches are very Dachshund like!! They have a distinctive curve to them! The face looks like a Dachshund/Chihuahua (apple head).

Ask the vet to weigh in because the vet can see what I can't, like the teeth and bone structure! He is 100% adorable!!

Post back what you learn!!

Thanks so much hahah! And of course i'll keep you posted. Also thanks for such positive feedback. Posted the same thing on yahoo answers and got the most rude replies I could imagine like "WTF were you thinking" "Poor Myron" and the worst "that Husky will KILL Myron" ... like thanks ... helpful . I literally almost cried hahaha .

I have to agree with you he is too small to be mixed with a black lab. I would say he is more of a mixture of Dachshund/Chihuahua by the size of him and the shape of his head. The dogs will get along it just takes time to introduce a new dog to the home. Give the cat time and allow the cat to get use to him being there.

They will be fine and do not worry for all of this. I have one very large dog and the other ones are very small. They all get along fine together and it just took a bit of time to teach the bigger dog that he was little and not to play so brought.

Right?? I was also thinking Chiweenie but I did an online dog scan thing as a joke and it said Patterdale Terrier around 4 times. Looked it up as a puppy and it actually looks a lot like Myron (i'll attach pics). So now it's between those two. Sorta leaning towards Chiweenie though as it's small like Myron :) ... also, thank you for being so kind ! When I put this on yahoo answers I got so much hate and people telling me "That Husky will KILL Myron" and asking what's wrong with me and stuff. Seeing the positivity on here is extremely comforting

My daughter has a Husky and yes they are very active and hyper a lot of time time. Her daughter's boyfriend has a very small dog. The Husky loves to play with the dog and at first, he was overpowering and the little dog did get scared. It took a little time for the Husky to calm down around the small dog and not be so aggressive when they played together. My brother also had 2 Chiweenie that he raised around some very large dogs and one of the dogs was a pit bull.

He never had issues with this. You just need to introduce the dogs and be there when they are playing to make sure the larger dog knows and understands that this dog is just a baby and he must slow down when they play together. Do not worry and all the negative answers are from people who do not own animals or do not take time to teach them.

He is adorable! I too believe that he is Chihuahua/Dachshund. Because of his look, body style and height for his age. What a big welcome to your family, from this little one!

I believe your adorable puppy is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. With supervision, I'm sure your fur-family will blend nicely.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new addition as this type of dog makes a great pet.

Occasionally, you'll encounter a dog with unusual behavioral traits, but for the most part, you can expect the dog's temperament to match the way you train it and care for it.

He doesn't know whether he's a stray mutt or a champion sire. All he knows is, he's mama's little boy and all he wants to do is please you.
