What Breed Is My Puppy?

He was adopted from a shelter. We were told he was full Pit Bull, according to the previous owner. Though he looks like it in the face, he has no other markings that would state that.

Can anyone help me figure this out?closeup of face

I raised AKC Boxers in the US for over 40 years, and my cousin raised American Staffordshire Terriers (proper name for pit bulls, Staffie being the nickname).

We both did breed rescue as well, including of course the inevitable mixes of both breeds - and that's what your outstandingly handsome dog looks like to my experienced eye, a Boxer-Staffie mix, heavy on the Boxer side of the gene pool. Run an image search using the term 'Boxer-Staffie' or 'Boxer-pit bull' and you'll quickly see what I mean.

You'll need to check with your local authorities (and rental manager/landlord if you're in a rental home) to be sure you're in compliance with all local laws regarding these breeds and mixes. Many areas of the US, UK (where I now live), and Canada list these breeds and the mixes as 'dangerous dogs' and have tightly legislated keeping them. The laws include rules regarding insurance, inoculations, leads (leashes), muzzles, behaviour training, fencing, and exposure to vulnerable people (children, the infirm, and the elderly).

These laws are easy to run afoul of, and it's the owner's responsibility to find out what those laws are.

All that said about 'dangerous dogs', Boxers and Staffies, and mixes that are heavier on the Boxer than Staffie side (which I think is your dog, probably 3/4s Boxer based on body and head shape+colouring) make absolutely fabulous family dogs - but only if the owner and all family members understand the breeds making up the mix.

Your local library, vet, and the Internet (breed and mix specific sites) are your best sources for info on Boxers and Staffies and will include such information as breed characteristics, needs (including feeding, breeding on, training, and exercise), and how to integrate one into your home.

I was just thinking his face looked a lot like my boxer-lab mix, so I'd also suspect he's part boxer.
