What Breed Is Our Dogs?

We got Rex (darker coloring) at 3wks old and they think he is Collie/Shepherd mix plus Pit, but I don't think so. He sheds all the time, is over 100 lbs, but his brother Patch was from the same litter and they don't look any thing alike. Their size and actions are so different. The only thing that's the same, is both shed all the time.

Please help us find out what both are dogs are. We love them both, but they didn't even bark the first year. Rex is loud and loves to howl, but Patch is so soft that he tries to howl, but it you can't hear him. Most people think Patch is a girl. Rex and Patch on bed covered with a sheet

Only a vet can tell for sure with a DNA test. Just because they came from the same litter doesn't mean they have the same father. They could be different breeds.

The one on the right looks like a basset hound mix
