I am trying to find out what my cute little Ace is mixed with. I bought him in California while visiting.

Oh my goodness! Ace is adorable! If you look at some online pictures of brindle Chiweenies I think you'll see that Ace looks to be a Brindle Chiweenie.
He does look Chihuahua mix, maybe Pitt?
He looks to be a mix of doxie and Brindle Chiweenie.to me.
Looks like a chiweenie to me.
I would say definitely doxie mix. Cute little thing. We had a pit that had the same markings. If you can afford it, you can do a doggie DNA type thing to find out for sure.
The only way to know for sure about your Ace's breed is with a DNA test.
These are not as expensive as years ago and you can find the kits online or at most pet stores (or your vet).
I have seen a couple of documented Chiweenie dogs and Ace sure looks like he could be one of those. Chiweenie's are a cross of chihuahua and dachshund and can always 'favor' one of the breeds more than the other so when you look at photos you may notice some big differences.
They can also grow differently depending on the type of chihuahua & dachshund parents.
I was interested in purchasing a chiweenie and from what owners/vet have told me they grow to be somewhere around 8 to 10 inches in height and usually weigh approximately 8 to 12 lbs. Their live span is usually around 10 years (with exceptions of course).
Here are some photos of chiweenie's and you can see the world of differences but still all cute doggies. The biggest differences that I noticed are in the ears and nose. Seems the more dachshund the bigger the ears (and some stand up and never 'flop'). Also the more dachshund the longer the nose.

If you think your Ace is chiweenie you can read about the breed here.
Most important thing about your Ace is to be sure he sees his vet for all first year shots/vaccinations.
