He is 4 months old. We have just adopted him and we can't afford a DNA test right now! Anyone have an idea what breed he is?

The long muzzle and upright ears suggest German Shepherd. The short coat and all black coloration suggest Lab. The paws do not look big in the photos, suggesting this will be a medium sized adult dog.
I concur, Shepherd & Lab... He is beautiful! I know you will enjoy! (I need a halter like you use... where?)
