It will be very hard to tell until the puppy gets a little older. We adopted a rescue Chihuahua mix when she was a puppy. She started out as a tiny, shorter-haired little girl, and grew up to be a beautiful 27-pound long-hair, which our vet thinks may be a Golden Retriever mix. (Daddy would have been the Chihuahua, obviously). Mother Nature is a mad scientist!
