We were told our puppy is a Maltese mix. Her coat is very soft and she has a longer body with short legs in my opinion. What are your thoughts? She is currently 7 months old and weighs 10.2 lbs.
Thank you for your help.

Maybe Maltese and Chihuahua, or maybe Maltese/ Yorkie, She is very lovely! She has a short body stature.
The short legs and long body make me think your puppy could be a Maltese/Dachshund mix, maybe a long-haired dachshund. However, a Maltese/West Highland Terrier mix or Maltese/Shihtzu mix also seem like good possibilities.
At seven months old and weighing over 10 pounds I believe you have an all American mixed breed - maybe leaning toward some dachshund.
At seven months any of the Maltese or Westie Terrier usually have more facial hair and not so much weight.
You can ask your vet what they think as I'm sure you're taking her to the vet for her first year shots/vaccinations.
You can always purchase a DNA kit and then you'll know for sure. These kits can be found online, pet stores and your vet.
Kits cost between $45 - several hundred dollars but the lower cost is all you'll need to determine her breeding mix.
I just want to hug that sweet pup!! I see a Heinz 57 bundle of love with a little dachshund or other hound mixed in
I see no Maltese. Maybe the white is from the mix and there is also a tad of Jack Russell which has a lot of white.
Have you asked the vet to weigh in? Whatever she is, she is 100% adorable!! Post back what you learn! The vet can see what I can't...like her teeth, jaw, and bone structure.
She sure is adorable and the shape of her head and body remind me of Doxie for some reason. She does have the coloring and fluffy ears of a Maltese but she sure has the shape of the longer body like a Doxie.
