After having seen about 4 large, white, fat worms wriggling about in the span of a week, I checked the nearest place inside the closet (very clean upon inspection) and under my bed. I found these two eggs or shells. Could anyone identify the insect for me? The size of the egg is similar to a cockroach egg, only this one is more elongated and slimmer. As mentioned, the actual worm was thick and about the length of a fingernail.

Possibly moths. The larvae are white and about the size you describe. The common clothing moth's case doesn't look precisely like this but I would consider it a close enough match, considering also where you found them. Great photos by the way!
If no one here knows, you could send the pictures to your local cooperative extension center.
If these are not possibly apple seeds (anyone eating apples in the closet?), then they might be the eggs of a STICK INSECT. There are many varieties of stick insects, and most of their eggs look like seeds. Walking sticks, as in the bug that looks like a twig, are Stick Insects.
