I just moved into a new house last summer where the previous owner has lots of beautiful flowers. She lived here for over 30 years and spent countless hours tending to all these plants and flowers! I will do the same, but I'm not familiar with them. I have always wanted a yard with lots of plants and flowers. Last summer this plant bloomed a yellow flower on top, I cut the dead stalks back early in the spring and the stalks grew again this year, they are about 8 or 9 ft tall, but no flower:( Can someone tell me what this plant is so that I can research its proper care? Thank you!

Although I do not know the name of your plant I would like to encourage you to go to the website houseplant411.com they have several types of plants cataloged along with how to care for them. If your plant is not cataloged you can submit a picture and an expert will give you the details on it. I wish I had an educated guess to give you but I was not able to find out for sure what it was. I thought at first it may be an Arrowhead Plant but then remembered you said it had flowered in the summer so I dont think it was that. I hope you find out what it is it sounds like you have inherited a beautiful yard. Im sure the lady who used to live there would be appreciative of you continuing to care for it. Good luck!
