I have several of what I think are plants in my massive flower bed. I'm told they might be bleeding hearts. Is this correct? No sign of flowers yet. Any idea what they are and when will I see flowers?

Not shooting star but may be columbine. When you see the blooms will depend on where you live.
I think it is bleeding harts (dicentra spectabilis). The foliage looks like bleeding hearts. The columbine (Aquilegia) leaves are not pointed and they are not deeply cut they have a round shape a bit like shamrock and columbine does not have this bush aspect.
You will get the bushiness with Columbines. But you're right about the leaves. That could be what it is. I hope it blooms. Bleeding hearts are so nice.
