I could probably give a better guess if I could see the trunk but it appears to be one of the parlor palms. Many of the palms in this species is grown in a clump but there are some that people grow with a single trunk.

Could be a type of split leaf philodendron.
After Judy posted about the split leaf philodendron, i decided to recheck my information but after looking at the photos on Google, i could not find one that has the same style leaves as most of the split leaf philodendron are more closely joined, so I still think it is a type of palm but - with plants - I'm always open to being wrong.
cybergrannie is correct, it is a palm. Watch that you don't let the soil stay damp, it will rot the roots.
