I bought this plant a little while back and want to know what it was. I don't know where it originates from, or anything about it. Does anyone know what the species is?

This looks like a Dieffenbachia
i believe your plant is in the Peperomia family (also called baby rubber tree/plant) but there are a lot of variegated types in this family. Cannot tell for sure but I believe it is a Pepper face Peperomia obtusifolia. Maybe you can look at some photos of this one and determine which one.
