I just got one of these plants from someone and have no idea what it is. Any ideas? I'd like to figure it out so I can best care for it. The leaves are jagged and kind of rubbery and the girl I got it from said they were edible (not sure if that's true).

I think your plant is from the large kalanchoe family. It looks like a Kalanchoe Daigremontiana. About the edibility of a plant, sometimes people simply mean that you could accidentally eat a plant and it will not kill you, or you can use special preparation from a plant for some health benefit, but the good tasty edible plants you could feed on daily are nearly all already known, grown, and part of our diet. Example: Rutabaga and Topinambour are edible, now ask people who had to feed on them during the 2nd world war because they had nothing else to eat, about their edibility.
