I got this house plant from a garden centre. It had a label with the species on it, but they took it off at the checkout. I would really like to know what type of plant it is :)
Thanks!

I went back to the garden centre and found another one of the plant. It turns out it is a Areca (Dypsis) lutescens (butterfly palm). Thanks for your help! :)

I do not think it is a snake plant but appears to be in the lily family.
- Do you remember if you were looking at lilies or what other type of plant?
- Your plant looks a lot like some of my Calla lilies before they bloom.
- Maybe if you can check the roots and give us a description someone may be able to help you.
- Calla lilies have rhizomes.
- Rhizome
- Rhizomes grow horizontally and form roots from its bottom while shooting out leaves on the top. Buds form at different parts along the structure, not necessarily at the top. Examples of rhizomes are Canna Lilies and Calla Lilies.
