I bought this plant and the tag says only that it is a tropical plant. I would like to get the actual name of the plant!

It doesn't look tropical to me. Why don't you take it back to the store and have them identify it?
Agree it doesnt look tropical, however that is what the tag says. Also good suggestion to bring it back to the store but Im not sure where I bought it. I could bring it to a nursery and ask.
I agree with the others...this does not look like an amaryllis...Perhaps the tag for the plant, was placed in the wrong pot!
Hello ! I think it is a long leaf ficus and if so it is indeed a tropical tree and a bit more touchy than his brother the ficus benjamina.
