What Is This Houseplant?

I was recently given this seedling. I was told it is a Chinese good luck plant (not bamboo) and it looks a bit like a spindly busy lizzie. It has no smell and it is slow growing with no flowers so far. Anyone have any ideas? It might not even be a house plant as such.
