The tag on your item appears to say Genich Int'l. Genich produced a line of "bug" toys in the 1990s. If you search Genich China on ebay you will find a couple in the 15-20 USD range. Hopefully this helps a little!
Your bug was made by Genich International Inc.. I believe it was probably made in the 90's (not positive).
I did find one like yours listed for sale on eBay. The seller is calling your bug a 'ladybug' and has a little information about this item.
