I have found these bugs in my bed and in my living room near the couch and on the couch. They look like carpet beetles, but they dont fly, at least not that I have seen and I have seen quite a few. I live in Colorado, about 20 miles south of Denver, if that helps any. Also, what do I need to do to get rid of these? I have a small dog and cannot use anything that will harm her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...the picture is a little blurry. It may be a potato beetle. Colorado has a whole website devoted to beetles. It is very cool and has lots of pix to help you match yours to theirs.... entomology.ca.uky.edu/
If you can't find a match, I suggest taking a few (in a sealed jar, double bagged to prevent escape, to your local garden shop or hardware store and asking for help.
Once you ID the creature correctly, you can find many, many natural ways that are pet and child safe to get rid of them.
