Please help me figure out what kind of bug this is and what kind of treatment is used?
It looks like a beetle larva. Maybe Khapra Beetle or Biscuit Beetle. Many beetle larvae are similar.
Unless you have hundreds, it is best to vacuum them up, do a good cleaning, hot water and steam if you can, take the bag out of the house and dispose of it. If this doesn't work, you may need an exterminator. Usually a good cleaning is enough.
Check the perimeter of your house for gaps and ways they may have entered the house and plug leaks. Also check your pantry to make sure nothing is infested there since they could have come in from things like flour or other part items. Toss those and tell the store.
Post back with updates.
Sure looks like beetle larvae.
Getting rid of these can be a big problem if they have been around for a while so hopefully these are fairly new and you can kill them off without having to pay for professional help.

Some excerpts from University web sites:
"Keep in mind, just one adult carpet beetle can lay up to 50 eggs. The larvae stage of the carpet beetle can last between three months and three years, while adults can live between two weeks and a few months."
You should probably read more than one article on how to get rid of these but basically, cleaning is the best way to do this.
This is a long read but gives a lot of information.

Found this guy on my bed. Not a bed bug is he?
It looks like you might have something from the beetle family of bugs.
Maybe a black fabric or carpet beetle. They do not bite but can do damage to clothing and carpet. The pantry beetle also looks similar but your pictures blur out if enlarged.
You can always send your bug questions/pictures to your county extension office and ask for advice;

Most advice given on how to remove them is to vacuum several times, especially if you see anymore around the house.
Here are recommendations from the extension office:
"Vacuum all areas thoroughly. Put clean woolens away in sealed containers.Check stored food products and spices for infestations and dispose of infested material. Store all herbs, spices, and dried food products in airtight containers."
Here are a couple of information links but these also have pictures of different kinds of bugs.

This looks like a Attagenus Pellio- better known as a Fur Beetle or Carpet Beetle. This beetle loves to destroy textiles , fabrics , like clothing , furniture.
These little (tiny, a few could fit on to a penny.) winged (haven't seen them fly, just have seen them expand when trying to get out of my cat's water dish.) brown, with a darker color head, shelled insects have been in my room the past week. I have found more and more everyday! They're in my cat's water dish, on the lamp shade then one crawled on me in my bed. I lost it, stripped my sheets and there were more on my bed.
I first thought baby roaches and almost set the bed on fire. But, they are significantly smaller and slower than roaches. They're actually very slow. I just don't get why they're in my bed, unless they've nested there. (shiver)
Anyway, other than helping with identify, if you could assist on getting rid of them? Please, and thank you in advance for taking the time to answer.
The bug is in the beetle family and loves carpets, bed fibers, and things like this. You'll need to vacuum them up and empty the cleaner each time. Laying down some sticky fly paper is a great way to trap them and get them out of your home.
Has anyone seen these small brownish/black bugs in their home? I'm in Chicago on the second level of my building. I trapped two on them on the living room window sill and one crawling on the carpet. They have wings, but they don't seem to fly.
They have trouble flipping over when they are on their backs. One of the three is bigger so it may be a different type of bug. Any insight is appreciated! These are typical carpet beetles that come into people's home to eat the fibers in your carpet and your clothes. It does not matter if you live in a home or an apartment they come in to everyone's home.
We have some small, brown bugs in our couch. They look like ticks. So far we have just seen them in the couch. Do you have any ideal what these are? When you pinch them some of the bigger ones bleed. Please help. Thanks.
Sounds like lice or ticks to me.
Ticks aren't soft enough to pinch and burst unless they have been feeding and are very swollen. Then they're usually still attached to whoever they're feeding on. As far as I know, lice are generally whitish but I've never had them so I'm not sure. Fleas are small and black/brownish. They appear to jump when you try to pinch them.
You can have fleas even if you don;t have pets as a visitor may have broght them in. If you think it's fleas; you have to fumigate TWICE so you catch the adults and eggs yet to hatch. Remember to vaccuum thoroughly and repeatedly after bug bombings.
If you're not sure what they are, I'd get rid of the couch or at least get it out of the house. Vacuum the area where the couch was repeatedly (I'd do the entire house) and watch for signs of any of the bugs. Make sure you dispose of the vacuum bags OUTSIDE ASAP so you don't end up spreading your infestation by mistake.
It's worth the effort to try to contain your infestation while you figure it out.
Try identifying the bugs specifically so you know if fumigation will be effective or not. Google bugs or infestation with your general location and see what pics come up that look close to what you have.
Spray the couch with whatever will kill your bugs and vacuum repeatedly over several before you think of moving it back inside if it isn;t something you want to get rid of. If you have a garage, you can easily fumigate (spread out the cushions, etc so it's as open as possible) just the couch if you're sure the infestation hasn't spread.
Good luck but move quick.
If they're flat, they could be bed-bugs.

Here is a site with pictures of bed bugs so you can identify them. Google on line to find out how to get rid of them.
Sounds like bedbugs and they are making a comeback in cruise ships and college dorms.
Check out this website, look at the picture on the right, this is what it sounds like you may have? It's called a carpet beetle, we have had them in the past. I started vacuuming more and that seemed to get rid of them.
Please help we have seen these couch bugs. Do not know the source of them, maybe you do.
Please Dave how did you get rid of them. What are they?
Could you please identify the type of bug this is? There are a pack of them on my balcony. I would like to know how to get rid of them also.
Whatever you could do to help would be greatly appreciated. This is a really bad picture, I can't tell whether it is a ladybug, a bedbug, or a stinkbug. We would need to know:
1) its size (maybe photo it next to a penny)
2) its shape
3) its colour (either a better photo or tell us)
4) its activities (fly? crawl? etc)
I suggest you resubmit a photo for a better answer
You have black carpet beetles ! They feed off of wool and often eat carpet! They can become extremely destructive if you do not act swiftly. Call an exterminator and find one who has beetles as a part of their guarantee.
Due to their microscopic size and " out of sight " behavior - they are considered to be one of the hardest , if not the hardest, pest to get rid of.
Clean air ducts, all carpets cleaned, and throw away any and all clutter. - They love wool and this material has to be in an airtight container or it will be destroyed !
These are small black bugs that show up on the walls of the bathroom and the kitchen. They look like they don't move and that they stay on the same spot of the wall, but just seem to appear out of nowhere.
I've killed so many in the past week and can't figure out where they are coming from or what they are. They also seem to like water and after showering they appear on the shower wall.
