I just got her a week ago; she is 6 months old. The previous owner said she was a Husky, but wasn't sure.

She is so beautiful! She has the Husky look, but why not- Alaskan Malamute- looks a lot like her also! Here is some info on this lovely breed - en.wikipedia.org/
Thank you! Yes others has told me that she might have malamute in here. They do have similarities.
The dog is a husky for sure and I think it could be in the family of the Yakutian Laikas breed. I am saying this based on the head and the fur around the dogs ears.
A beautiful dog. Some say that these type is considered a 'red Siberian'
apparently, they can come in an array of colours pethelpful.com/
Beautiful dog!
Six months old and already has her 'spots' and I'll bet no one is allowed to disturb her..
She is young to identify any mixes by pictures but all of the breeds mentioned are very close to having the same attributes so you may never really know for sure unless you use a DNA test.
I believe she may have a mix of another breed other than Husky but I'm not that good of a judge so my opinion on that count is of no consequence.
If you did not see or know nothing about the parents of your dog than a DNA test would probably be a good think to have. These tests not only tell you the breeding background but health grades and usually tell you of any health matters you should watch for.
It will cost a lot of money to raise your pup properly (vet charges really do mount up over a period of years) as just food alone adds quite a lot to your monthly budget so it's important to know how to keep her healthy.
DNA test kits can be purchased online, pet shops, most big box stores and even the popular hardware stores. Vet also sell these or give them in their office but I use PetSmart most of the time as they contribute so much to animal welfare (and you can take your dog inside the store).
These kits cost between $60 - $250 so you would have to do a little research before buying one.
The most important thing you can do for your new friend is to take her to the vet for her vaccinations/shots as she is probably due to start right now.
These can be the difference between life and death sometimes and certainly for good heath purposes.
Check out this link so you'll be well informed.
Take care and I hope the two of you enjoy a long, wonderful life together.
Thank you so much for your very kind words & suggestions! She actually had her first vet appointment today to receive her vaccines and checkup. She actually was put on antibiotics and 2 other medications because she having urinary issues, they also ran some test on her including blood work.
Oh - I'm so sorry she is having health issues but I feel sure you have her on the right track and she will be well soon.
I'm so glad you are such a responsible person and will see her through any problems she has; now or in the future.
How nice that you found each other - and - it sounds like just in the nick of time as her health problems could have escalated if not found so soon.
Please keep us posted and send more pictures - we are pet people.
