You have to say where you live. There are hundreds of different kinds of snakes. At least tell what state.
The photo is too dark for a clear picture of the snake's identifying markings. Also need your locale or state, when the picture was taken (season), where the snake was found and day or night time the snake was found.
If it is small, then it could be a baby black racer : I just found one about 14" long on my lanai that looked similar to the photo.
