If it smells like cucumbers, it's a rattle snake.
First of all, it isn't a rattlesnake. I can see it doesn't have any rattles on it's tail or a diamond pattern on its back.
Unfortunately there are thousands of snake species and a good deal of them are brown. They can usually be narrowed down by location. Do you live in the USA? What state or region?
