What Kind of Snake is This?

Anyone knows what kind of snake this is? I live in central Texas.

From what I have researched and learned it looks to be most likely a common rat snake which are non-poisonous. That doesn't mean they can't give you a nasty bite.

I agree it is a non poisonous rat snake. If you do have rats in the area they will help to control the population

Looks like a Gardner snake.They kinda resemble a rattlesnake with no rattler. They eat nice usually. I've never heard of one bitting but I won't not get too close.
