What Type of Snake Is This?

pretty green and black snakeMy hubby found this snake mowing lawns, at work. We are in South Carolina. I'd like to keep it, but not if it is poisonous.

Surprise, surprise, that is NOT a snake! You have found a glass lizard. A legless lizard, but not a snake. He can blink, he has ear holes. His tail, if grabbed, will fall off and shatter. Here's a link: srelherp.uga.edu/.../ophven.htm

I'M FROM fLORIDA, IF THIS SNAKE HAS LIZARD-LIKE EYE LIDS, IT'S A GLASS SNAKE. iF SO BE CAREFUL PICKING IT UP BECAUSE IT WILL DROP IT'S TAIL LIKE A LIZARD. GOOD PET.

It isn't venomous, I'm not sure what it is but try looking at all the snakes native to your state.
