Hard to tell since it is smushed. In my house when I have things that fly to my screen they are fruit flies and that means I have potatos or fruit I left out and forgot about.

Get rid of that, and the bugs go away.

The other thing are drain flies...but those are really tiny and this looks more fruit fly sized.

Drain flies I get rid of by boiling some vinegar, putting baking soda in the drain and pouring the boiling vinegar down the pipe.

Sometimes it takes a few tries. It cleans and kills!

These could be Gnats or Tiny Black Flies. They both lovers of light during the day and night. Gnats also love humid temps. Mostly none harmful, here is a little info about them - en.wikipedia.org/.../gnat

This time of the year tiny black flies as you have here in your image seem to come out and they are such a pest. It is easy to get rid of them and keep them under control if you can put out some sticky fly paper and trap them. Flytraps or homemade flytraps work well also.

Flytraps are not hard to make and normally are a lot cheaper than going out and buying them at the store. I like the sticky flypaper to trap the flying bugs around here. You can get quite a few on the sheet of paper before you need to throw it away and get a new one.

Considering the condition of the bug when picture was taken (or at least the appearance in the picture) it would be difficult to research.
There are many types of tiny black bugs that are attracted to light so that doesn't help very much.
I would suggest trying to get better pictures of a 'stunned' (getting ready to die?) so someone can see the full shape of the bug and send it to your county extension agency as they have more knowledge and know what type of bugs are prevalent in your area.
