I found this bug in my house last night. I had the windows open and one of the screens is a little wonky so it doesnt shut all the way. I found it under the window, not sure if that helps or not. Can anyone tell me what it is? It appears to have wings. And it's so small, I'm not even sure how I saw it in the first place. I put it in tape so I could look at it, so don't mind that bit. I'm in the Midwest US.

I agree with Ana that it is most likely a gnat, or many folks call them No-Seeums. They bite and leave you itching. Some folks even get swollen spots at the bites. I've found the best thing to use on the bites is ammonia. There is a product out there called Tender's Afterbite that works on their bites and lots of other insect bites. It comes in a tube like a pen, that dispenses it nicely. Good luck.
