What is This Plant?

I dug up a starter of this plant from a friend's garden last year. I had never seen one before, and it was interesting to me. The leaves are spotted white, and it now has some purple and pink bell like flowers. Also, the stems are prickly. Can anyone identify it? Thanks.

It might be Lungwort.

Sure does look like a type of lungwort. Wait til it blooms, then google it.

This is lungwort, or pulmonaria. The spotted foliage is neat, but so are the multi-colored flowers that bloom in the late spring. They grow well in the shade or partial shade and seem to spread after a few years.

I planted just a few plants in a shade garden, and they're coming up all over the place now. The clumps get to be good-sized and can be divided in the fall.

Your plant looks like a Pulmonaria. I have several in my shade garden.
