I need to know what kind of snake is this? It was out side our house. I live in southwest Houston, TX. Is this poisonous?

I went on this Texas government website to see pictures of poisonous snakes. Yours was not among them. tpwd.texas.gov/
It is difficult to really see the snake well enough to ID it but here is a Texas web site that has all of your snakes listed with very good photos.

Thanks for sharing the valuable link and I was looking at the "baby snakes" and found one that was very close to the one we spotted at our front yard, "texas brown snake".
i believe, where snakes are concerned, we really need to have reliable information.
I'm all for keeping the "good" critters but all I ask is, please, stay some distance from my house.
Toe it looks like a type of Garter Snake
What kind? We have seen two of these in lower Delaware but they are smaller. Same markings though. What kind of snake are these? I was not able to find under Delaware snake list.
We determined that it was a garter snake.
