What do I use to glue on seashells to a painting? I need them to stay on the painting which would be on canvas? I have asked people and some said tacky glue others said craft glue and others said to use silicon chalk. Please help!

Use Beacon Sea Shell Glue or Weldbond glue. I think Gorilla Glue will be ok too.
I have used E6000 glue on just about everything, and would be great for this project. You can also use hot glue for this as well .- www.ehow.co.uk/
Sounds like a fun project.
A few years back I worked with a small class and we did similar projects and since everyone had their own glue we had mixed results.
I checked each 'successful' glue on line and it seems some of the same brands are still the favored ones.
E-6000 still seems to be high on the list.
Gorilla glue
Wellbond glue
Just remember: almost all brands have several varieties of each glue so read labels before purchasing.
I did find some interesting tips that I did not know and some sound like good ideas:
"Dip a fine paintbrush in glue and lightly trace the outer perimeter of the object where it meets the canvas for reinforcement. Allow to dry completely.
Use a small brush to paint a second coat of glue over and around the entire object for reinforcement, if desired."

Thank you for your info. This is really great to here. I thought for sure I was not going to be able to do this type of painting. The sea shells were from a Florida Trip that I and my husband took my eldest granddaughter, when she was little. She just turned 24 so now I can give her the seashells back for her to jkeep. Thank you so much for this information. Mary Ann
I would use Gorilla Glue.
E6000 is the very best glue for EVERYTHING! Epoxy is the only thing better, but it is such a pain to use.
I make jewelry and E6000 will stick the world together if it falls apart. Apply a bit to the shell and then a thin bit to the canvas. Wait for about 3 minutes then stick the shell to the canvas.
I want to thank you for your help. I should of used this site earlier. I am so amazed that I have gotten many answers . I appreciate every
every one of them. Thank you for your input.
