If anyone knows where this red elephant was made from, could you please let me know. I have no idea, it was a gift from my grandma. As a child I took off the name tag so I don't know what company or who made it or where it's from. I think the animal is stuffed with beads or pellets. I dont know the specific term but it looks like a small white bead. The fabric feels smooth and soft. I tried to explain as best as I could about what the elephant is made of, so maybe it could help too.

Your elephant is stuffed with pellets made of PVC (polyvinylchloride) or PE (polyethylene). PVC was discontinued in most stuffed toys beginning in 1998 due to safety concerns. The fabric appears to be nylon-polyester. I'm sorry that I've had no luck identifying the pattern or manufacturer. Enjoy the memories you have around this toy!
Thank you so much for the info, I appreciate it!
This plush animal looks like it may be part of the Dream Pets line, by R. Dakin. This business started in the late 1950's , and has made over 2000 different characters throughout the years, a large amount were sold at Big Lot stores, eventually selling the company in the 2000's.There are a few plush collectibles here- www.etsy.com/
Ohh thank you for the info, Ill check it out. It makes sense if it was made by that business and ended up getting sold because it was a long time ago
I have never seen this. Usually elephants are gray. Im thinking this may have been a Christmas edition.
I think it may be difficult to find the same red elephant like you have. This one is the closest that I've seen so far:

Your elephant is cute! To me he looks handmade. This gal makes one that looks very similar. If you feel it is a close match, maybe she can tell you who made the pattern. www.etsy.com/
