White Gum Eraser for Permanent Marker

Marker lines on coffee table. When my new coffee table arrived, it had these permanent marker lines (they could have been there for months, who knew where or when it was manufactured). I was afraid to try alcohol, so before buying the Mr. Clean sponges, I tried a regular white rubber eraser. You can see the results, just a very, very teeny remnant of the lines remain (all the black is gone), but you can only see them if you're looking at the correct angle. I polished it all up with Liquid Gold and it's beautiful.

My 6 year old cousin thought it would be fun to write all over my entertainment system. After reading this, I handed her the eraser and made her take all of it off. I am so glad this worked! It was a lifesaver and lesson all in one! Thanks!

I really want to thank you for this. A houseguest dropped his permanent ink pen on the floor and the next day I noticed that there were two large black stains of ink that had spurted out (and were very dry).

I used the eraser and it worked but was slow. By accident, after taking a break, I washed my hands and came back to it. My hands were still a little wet and wet the eraser slightly. It worked twice as fast wet (a butterscotch-colored gum eraser, old style) and both spots went away completely.

The damp eraser was perfect. Thank you!

So I used the toothpaste and baking solution and it worked great. However, the toothpaste left a sticky residue that easily cleaned up with water. Conclusion. If the toothpaste cleans the permanent marker and the water cleans the toothpaste, why wouldn't the water clean the marker? Just a thought.

Because toothpaste is a very very mild abrasive.

Fantastic solution for removing permanent marker from teak wood. White eraser and liquid gold! Who would have guessed?

You can use baking soda and water. Create baking soda paste and apply it to the permanent marker to remove the stain without damaging your laminate.
