I have white ghosting on the upper cabinet door from a kettle boiling too close to the wood. I tried the hairdryer method, and the ash and mayo, but nothing has worked. Anybody have the same issue and can comment from experience regarding the same issue please? There are multiple suggestions on here, but I am looking for someone who had success with the same issue. Thank you.

I have experienced the same problem, but I used lemon oil and it restored my cabinet back to its natural state. I have not had any further problem with it and it has now been several months. Hope this will help your situation also.
I have dark cabinets just like in the picture on the site. I was canning tomatoes and when I lifted the lid I ended up with very bad white steam marks on my cupboards. I almost cried. I've heard that coconut oil works wonders so I rubbed it all over the stain.
So how long does it take to go away? Just wondering. Becuse I was an idiot and set down my tv dinner on my moms coffee table and had made that mark.
I used coconut oil with a Brillo pad, scrubs lightly and immediately came up, then used more coconut oil to rub on after to seal because my coffee pot has no other place to go. He Brillo pad did not scratch up the wood.
I take these home remedies with a grain of salt, but my cabinet has a white steam stain on it and I came upon this site. OK, I just went out and purchased a bottle of coconut oil and applied it to a rag and wiped it on.
