The best thing about this recipe is that it makes several loaves and they freeze very well until you are ready to use them. This is very good, soft yet dense bread!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbsp. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 cups warm water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 8 cups whole wheat flour
  • 10-12 cups white flour

Directions:

Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Add remaining ingredients, beating with electric mixer until stiff. Mix remaining flour with a spoon. Let dough rise until doubled. Punch down. Let rise again. Shape into loaves. Place in greased 5x9 inch pans. Let rise until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.

Servings: 6-8 loaves
Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 35 Minutes
