I used wire from an old transformer and beads to make this pendant. The pendant has a secret: it is not only Pi-shaped, the number of beads corresponds to the digits of Pi.
Total Time: 30 Minutes
Yield: One pendant, size about 1.8 inches
Supplies:
- Copper wire with diameter 0.8 mm from an old transformer
- 3 White mother-of-pearl beads with diameter 0.5 cm
- 28 Blue mother-of-pearl beads with diameter 0.25 cm
- 30 Golden beads with diameter 0.25 cm
- Pliers
- Wire cutters
- Metal file
Steps:
- String beads onto the wire in the following order:
3 white mother-of-pearl beads (first digit of Pi 3), 1 blue mother of pearl bead (bb) (3.1), 4 golden beads (gb) (3.14), 1 bb (3.141), 5 gb (3.1415), 9 bb (3.14159), 2 gb (3.141592), 6 bb (3.1415926), 5 gb (3.14159265), 3 bb (3.141592653), 5 gb (3.1415926535), 8 bb (3.1415926535 8), 9 gb (3.1415926535 89).
Slide the beads into the middle of the wire.
- Bend the wire with beads into a Pi shape.
- Wrap the ends of the wire between each bead until you get to the top (to the upper bend). Make the transition of the wire on the back of the pendant.
- In the place of the bend, pass the wire through the previous turn. Then continue wrapping until you reach the middle of the letter.
- Make a wire loop, twisting the wire 1-2 times.
- Holding the opposite end of the letter with pliers, wrap the wire around the second half of the pendant as in the previous steps.
- Connect the ends of the wire by twisting them.
- Cut the wire and round the ends. Your Wire Wrapped and Beaded Pi Pendant is ready. Enjoy it!
