Silver Answer Medal for All Time! 440 Answers The Tree of Life is a popular and universal symbol that has been used all over the world for centuries. To make this Tree of Life Pendant, I used denim from old jeans, copper wire from an old transformer and goldstone chips with holes. I really like the combination of blue denim with copper wire and brown goldstone. It is not difficult and not expensive to make this pendant.
Total Time: 40 Minutes
Yield: Round pendant 1.2 inches in diameter
Supplies:
- blue old jeans
- copper wire from an old transformer or wire 0.8 mm diameter
- beads, I used brown goldstone chips with holes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldstone_(glass)
- transparent hot glue sticker and hot glue gun
- awl
- needle
- thread
- pliers and wire cutters
- crochet hook H-8 (5 mm)
- scissors
- compass
Steps:
- Cut two circles out of denim with a diameter of 1.2 inches.
- Cut 7 pieces of wire that are 1.8 inches long and twist them together in the middle.
- Spread the ends of the wires apart to form tree branches and roots.
- Use an awl to make holes for the branches a short distance from the edge. Insert the ends of the wires into the holes as shown in the photo.
- Bend the ends of the wires on the back of the denim circle.
- Sew on the beads to form the crown of the tree.
- Cut off a piece of wire and loop around the crochet hook as shown in the photo.
- Glue the second denim circle by inserting a wire loop between the denim circles. Trim the edges and enjoy the work done.
