This is stamped "Mersman 6651" on the underside of the table. Can you tell me what kind of wood it's made out of?
Thanks.

Neat piece, but I do not think it is all original. The top should be edged in wood, not metal. Their tables were primarily made of real wood, mahagony and cherry and oaks. This repair/alteration may be a veneer with the metal edging.
If you are intending to sell this, have a vintage dealer who can see it, confirm the wood, which I think is mahagony and find out how much the alterations will lower the selling price. It is hard to tell from photos what exactly is going on there, which is why it would be best to take it to an expert.

It appears to be Mahogany, there is one similar on pamono.com for $368 !
But the design is quite different in many respects. Do you think it's mahogany because this one is, or is there some other reason?
Some of these pieces have veneer. It could be cherry.
