Silver Post Medal for All Time! 293 Posts With only simple double crochet stitches, you can make this feminine and pretty scarf. I love simple patterns that you can sit and effortlessly enjoy while watching TV or anything else.:) This is one of them. Have fun!
Total Time: 2-3 hours
Source: scarves I've seen online
Supplies:
- "I" crochet hook
- about 300 yards worsted weight yarn. Red Heart, "farmland".
- scissors
- embroidery needle for weaving in ends.
Steps:
- Chain 40, dc in 4th ch from hk and each across.
- Ch 3, turn. 1 dc in each stitch across till end.
- Repeat last row 2 more times.
- Ch 3, instead of turning your work to make another row as you have been doing, rotate your work to the right. Work 5 dc in end of the row.
- Work 6 dc in each space at the end of that row.
- Rotate your work to the right again, work 3 dc in each stitch along that entire side.
- Rotate work again to the right, working 6 dc in the end of each row just as you did for the other side.
- Rotate work again, work 3 dc in each stitch till you reach your original ch 3. Join with a slip stitch.
- Ch 3, turn, work only 1 dc in each stitch around your entire scarf until you reach your first ch 3. Join with a slip stitch.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
- This scarf is about 59" long.
- See the ruffle?
- Keep or give away.
- Stay warm!:)

I tried this with a 40 stitch chain and it was way too short. Made one 140 stiches and it came out beautiful and am now working on one at 150 stitches. Thanks for a great idea.
