Worm Kittens with Tapeworm Tabs

Someone on here had asked what to worm their kittens with at first.

They need to worm all kittens for tapeworms.

The best you can do is Praziquantel. It is the same thing as in Droncit, as far as the main ingredient. Here is where you can order it from on Amazon. Sometimes stores like Tractor Supply will have it.

Tapeworms are in all kittens more or less, some worse than others. Fleas cause them and will continue to cause them.

I have lots of cats and so I have liquid Safeguard goat dewormer.
It is Fenbendazole. It is given in 25 mg per pound for three days. Safeguard has to be given for three days in a row so it is not as easy as giving a pill and forgetting about it. But it is for use on cats and dogs and kittens.

The dosage, like I said, is 25 mg per pound.

I just want to say to the gal above....THANK YOU! Dear Lord, I hate reading forums about home remedying or a topic that involves saving money and hassle. ...and everyone says "go to the vet"...you know, taking your dog or cat to the vet is very similar to taking an HIV+ person to the discount clinic downtown....prolly gunna get a worse illness from waiting in the same room as a million other sick people. Just saying, it is truly a blessing that some people still have vommon sense and don't demand an expensive rush to the vet for every little thing. I notice in my area anyway that it is nearly impossible to buy a cat wormer that covers tapeworms, unless you buy the tablets at the local farm supply....and they are expensive.....and they only cover tapes.

When tapes are the most common and recurring parasites, why on this green earth does the most commonly found "cat wormer" NOT handle tapeworm? And why should I take my cat to the vet when I know what a friggin tapeworm is, looks like, comes from, ect....common sense people. Its a rare commodity. But thank you, and to any others searching for this answer....what she said! 25 mg per pound. My (now 11) week old kittens are parasite free, happy, healthy....and I spent $10 to get all 5 of them treated.

Your number is way off and I hope nobody has given their cat this much. It isn't even that much for 125 lbs. 2.9 ml for 125 lbs. Not mg. The dosage would be more like probaby .025 ml per pound being it is .035 ml per 1.5 pounds.

Make sure to see the decimal point and if anybody is skeptical on what's correct, read the back of the bottle of goat wormer. It's good you are trying to help people though.

Is the dosage actually 25 ml per pound or .25 ml per pound? Im needing to know because we have a kitten we just rescued in December 18th and only weighs 1.6 lbs. I dont want to give her too much because the first round we gave her hasnt gotten rid of all the worms. And Im using SafeGuard Goats Dewormer on her which Im sure makes a difference.
