As careful and clean as you try to be, there is a possibility of bringing a bug-infested box of pasta home. If you don't have enough containers, wrap each box in a plastic bag and seal tightly. This will prevent the infested box from spoiling other foods in your pantry.

This is a good, common sense tip. It caused me to think of something else that might help. What about storing the pasta box in the freezer for a week prior to putting it on the shelf? Think that would kill any varmints in the pasta?
I put all my flour in the freezer for 24 hours to kill any potential bugs. I guess it would work with the pasta, too.
Actually, both ideas sound good.
I have not had a problem but why wait for one?
Thanks for the suggestions.
Stored Grain Beetles will chew a hole through any flimsy plastic wrap. You must use glass or hard plastic containers. But if you have ANYTHING in your pantry that is infested, rest assurred, infestation will spread.
