This is a male yellow-headed blackbird that I photographed last summer at a small pond on the prairie of ND. He was with a presumed nesting female and was in beautiful plumage.

Such a gorgeous bird! I belong to a bird group on Face Book for Birds of Nebraska and love seeing all the pictures people take in my state. I suppose there are bird groups for other states on Face Book. Thanks for the pretty picture.
