You might have dry bearings in the starter motor, or electrical wiring errors. Check out this super helpful forum. There are many steps you can take:

There are two reasons a mower won't start.

1. The mower has bad gas in it.
2. You have a problem with the safety switch. You need to test the safety switch to make sure it has continuity. You will do this with a volt meter.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a faulty solenoid. You can jump past the solenoid to start it but if you want it to start on its own you may need a new solenoid. Best of luck.

• Make sure battery connections are tight.
• Make sure connections are clean and tight.
• Always turn your key to off position when done.
• Be sure it is not flooded.

• Check the air filter and clean it with a paint brush.
• Change the filter for every 25 hours you use it.
• Use good clean fuel not older than 30 days.
• Add a fuel stabilizer to your fuel.
• Replace the fuel filter every mowing season.
• Make sure your sitting on the seat it will not start unless you are.
