My breeding pair hatched 4 eggs. All seemed fine, they grew out of their down. Then 3 died within days of each other (found dead in the nest). The survivor continued, but now is lethargic and not reacting to the parent's presence. It seems on it's way out. Any ideas on what is going on?

There are several reason why this could happen. This seems to be an issue from time to time with this species of birds. Here is a good article on this and what you can do to help them out. ladygouldianfinch.com/
Thank you!
Zebra Finches are very hard to control. Usually they take care of there own. Sometimes in nature they get sick for whatever reason ,and do not survive.
So sad! You have my sympathies! Sadly most birds, in my very limited experience, are fragile creatures. They react to temperature, noise, their food, other birds behaviors and other things and often the reactions are that they pass.
Unlike when I was young, today there are lots of good videos for mitigating these issues and promoting healthy birds. I decided very early on I could not handle the heartbreak, but I envy people who are able to enjoy their feather family!
Prayers for you to find good solutions and that you are successful in raising healthy birds going forward.
